Damjan Tatić,

‍

With great sorrow we inform the associates and friends of our Organization that Damjan Tatić, PhD, has passed away - a great figure of the disability movement in Serbia, an expert with outstanding national and international reputation, a long-standing associate of the National Organization of Persons with Disabilities of Serbia (NOOIS) and a true supporter of human rights of persons with disabilities.

‍

His professional biography is impressive, while the crown of his career was his membership in the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Geneva, where he served two mandates. Moreover, he will remain remembered as one of the authors of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, as well as a great man and extraordinary friend and associate. He was a person with exquisite intelligence, excellent education, a polyglot, extremely respected and admired worldwide. He is the author of many scientific studies and research.

‍

Although he passed away too early, he has left a huge testament with the accomplishments that will be entrenched forever in the disability movement of Serbia, while his name will be written in golden letters in the history of the National Organization of Persons with Disabilities of Serbia as its founder and associate until his last breath. Damjan Tatić's death is the beginning of his immortality. We would like to express our gratitude for everything he did for us.

‍

May he rest in peace!
